About the Role
The Village of Barrington Police Department is seeking qualified candidates for the part-time position of Records Assistant.
This civilian role performs a wide variety of administrative, clerical, and technical tasks to support the Police Department and operations. This position maintains official records, assists the public and departmental personnel, processes reports and citations, and supports court administrative procedures. Work requires a high level of confidentiality, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Requirements
Qualified candidates must possess:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of two (2) years of clerical experience requiring recordkeeping and public contact
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage stressful situations
Ability to tactfully yet persuasively help enforce Village Ordinances and policies with the public
Valid Illinois driver's license
Proficiency with basic computer systems and Microsoft Office applications
An equivalent combination of related education and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job successfully will be considered.
Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds regularly and more than 50 pounds occasionally.Â
