Requirements
In order to be eligible for the Lateral Transfer Eligibility List, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Except as otherwise provided by statute, applicants must be at least 21 and less than 35 years of age at the time of application; AND
Proof of current full-time employment as a sworn officer of a regular police department in any municipality, county, university, or State law enforcement agency for at least two (2) years; AND
Proof of Certification by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board; AND
Provide past and current work assignments; AND
Provide past & current performance evaluations; AND
High School Diploma or GED; AND
U.S. Citizen; AND
Valid driver’s license; AND
Must not have certain misdemeanor convictions and no felony convictions

Applicants who meet the above minimum requirements, who submit a completed application along with required documentation, may qualify for an Oral Interview with the Board of Police & Fire Commissioners.
Lateral applications are accepted continuously and at any time.
Additional testing prior to employment includes:
Background investigation
Polygraph exam
Psychological evaluation
Medical exam
Drug screen
Residency within 35 miles of the Village of West Dundee will be required within one year of hire.

Starting Salary up to Step 6 – Depending on Qualifications: $76,264 - $104,019
